Another Colorado Restaurant To Close For Good This Week

Usually, when a beloved restaurant in local Colorado towns announces that they're closing for good, they're flooded with comments of good memories and sad goodbyes, but in this case, the community didn't seem surprised at all.

Comments flooded the timeline of the Voice of Longmont's Facebook Page when a post was made about this once-popular burger bar. With complaints about slow service, being overpriced, bad and cold food, even people saying they'd stand at the door for minutes before even being greeted. Folks don't seem too surprised about the sudden closure.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar Location In Colorado Closing For Good

Established in 2007, Bad Daddy's Burger Bar once had a reputation for being one of the best places to grab a fresh and tasty burger, made custom just the way you want it. Over the years, feedback has shown that this once high-quality Burger Bar has declined.

The Longmont location for Bad Daddy's was always a popular stop for locals in the area when it first opened. It was so popular that they enclosed their patio to allow more tables to be available even in weather conditions. There was almost always a wait.

Sadly, the last few times we've gone, there's been no wait, and next to nobody inside the restaurant. While we agree with some of the feedback from the Voice of Longmont's Facebook post, the prices are pretty high, and they made a change that made you pay separately for your side (fries, side salad, etc.) without dropping the price of their burgers/entrees, which made it even harder to afford to eat there.

The last time we dined there, which was less than a month ago, for my wife, son and I to eat, it was nearly $80 before tip. The food wasn't worth the money either, as our sides were cold, and when we asked for new fresh & hot sides, they simply warmed what we had and sent it back out. We didn't even eat them.

The struggles and lack of business at this particular Bad Daddy's location have led to their demise as they'll be closing down this week. Multiple Voice of Longmont readers, as well as confirmation from a current employee, confirmed the closure, saying...

They [Bad Daddy's] didn’t care about our location and it showed, and continues to show because now they’re shutting down lol. We finally just got rid of a bunch of bad staff- management included, so it’s sad we didn’t get the chance to be the better we could’ve been. Sucks for us employees.

While it sounds like it's only the Longmont location closing its doors, if the other locations are being run like Longmont was, and they don't find a way to bring better value to their menu and not continue to outprice themselves, they could all be locking up sooner rather than later as well.

I will say that despite the decline at this particular location, I have truly enjoyed Bad Daddy's over the years. When they were on point, they were on point. Food is worth the price if it's hot, fresh, and delicious coupled with fast and friendly service. Without that, you're just an overpriced restaurant that nobody dines at anymore.
