Body Found in Fort Collins Lake

Fort Collins Police responded to a call of a body in a lake Wednesday night at around 6 p.m.

The body was found floating in the lake, Sheldon Lake located at City Park in Fort Collins. Fort Collins police have not released if the death is suspicious, however, the investigation is currently ongoing.

The information about the person found has not been released as of yet.

UPDATE: The person has been identified as Heather "Helena" Hoffman of Fort Collins

She was last seen leaving work on June 21st around 1 a.m. from McDonald's located at W Elizabeth and City Park Ave.

Police are investigating the death as suspicious. Police are saying that residents might see activity from law enforcement in the area of the lake as the investigation continues.
