Local Colorado Express Mexican Restaurant Favorite Now Closed

Mexican food in Colorado is some of the best you can get anywhere around. If you've ever traveled east and looked for good Mexican food, you know this to be true. Colorado is spoiled as far as the amount of great places to choose from.

We're extremely lucky in Colorado in that we truly have so many fantastic local Mexican restaurants that serve up some outstanding food and drinks. We've talked a lot about some of our local favorites, and this express location of one of our absolute favorite Mexican restaurants of all time has now closed permanently after just five years.

Las Parmeras Express Mexican Restaurant In Longmont, Colorado Now Closed

Las Palmeras in Longmont opened its main restaurant on Main Street opened in 2008, and quickly became one of the most popular local Mexican restaurants around. It got so popular that Las Palmeras ended up branching out and opening two smaller locations around Longmont.

The Las Palmeras Taqueria at 1131 Francis Street in Longmont, and the Las Palmeras Express at 1640 Pace Street also in Longmont. Sadly, after just five years, the Las Palmeras Express has closed permanently.

While a reason wasn't given, the Safeway that used to be in the same strip mall closed and that certainly couldn't have been good for business. Here's the message they put on the door letting its customers know of the closure...

We went by on Saturday, September 28th, to eat there one last time, and all of the signs had been taken down already, so as much as we held out hope that they may change their mind, it looked like a done deal.

One of the staff members told us this location will now become a baked potato restaurant, which sounds interesting! That's probably why they had the signs down already.

While the express location is closed for good, the silver lining is that the Taqueria and its original location on Main Street are still cooking up some of the best Mexican food in the state! Ever been? Here's our full review with pix...
