The Colorado Department of Transportation is about ready to sign a 50-year contract with private investors to help finance work on US Highway 36. It seems like a good way to fund expensive highway work, but a lot of people are saying this could be a terrible decision.

As we reported earlier, CDOT will be spending its entire $100 million emergency fund to repair the roads and bridges damaged by the flooding here in Northern Colorado. CDOT has recently announced that those contracts have been awarded to contractors and work will begin immediately.

If you ever have to drive on southbound I-25 during the afternoon rush, you are well aware that there are too many cars, too few lanes and too few alternate routes. I had resigned myself to the fact that it would be decades before we get more lanes added, but 9News is reporting that it could happen very soon.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be closing State Highway 1 in Wellington in both directions beginning today (Monday, December 17th) at 9 a.m.

The I-25 frontage road south of the Berthoud/State Highway 56 exit was closed yesterday. CDOT will replace the existing bridge structure over the Little Thompson River.

Well, we were all expecting the closure and the detour that came along with Highway 392 being closed today, but road crews will have to make more extensive repairs than they were anticipating and will have to close 392 on Thursday and Friday as well.
