Did you or your kids ever watch the “Captain Planet” cartoon series growing up? I sure did. It was one of my favorites! Plus, an action-packed series that teaches kids about the environment? How genius is that!
If I had to pick my least favorite thing about Summertime, it wouldn’t be the heat. It would be the mosquitos. Those blood-sucking little buggers leave me itchy for weeks! Add to that the fact that they carry diseases like West Nile Virus and H1N1 Flu, and there’s really no good reason to put up with them. And luckily, scientists seem to agree. Read on to see what their plan is!
It seems like most people text with their phones more than they talk on them these days. I text all the time, and I’m not always sure why. It takes more effort to type out thoughts on a tiny keyboard, rather than just say them. Plus, it’s impossible to know someone’s inflection and tone of voice through text. If I had a dime for every misinterpreted text I’ve dealt with, I’d have…well, a whole lot of dimes; at least ten or 20 bucks worth! But some folks are so good at texting, they are actually winning huge cash prizes for doing it! Read on to see what I mean.
I love buying things online. Sometimes, it can be a pain waiting for shipping, but I feel like the convenience of being able to shop at my computer evens that out. I’ll admit, though, that every time I order something online, there’s that little part of me that asks, “What if they get the order wrong?” I’m usually able to dismiss these thought as me just being paranoid; but this story proves that the way I like shop isn’t completely fool-proof.
There’s no disputing that Fort Collins is a bike-friendly town. It’s rare to see a street that doesn’t have bike lanes, at least around where I live. In keeping with its pro-bike philosophy, Fort Collins is making sure that once you get where you’re going on your bike, you’ll have somewhere to put it!
If you’ve never been to NewWestFest before, you’re missing out on one of the largest (and most fun) community and concert events around. This year’s Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest starts this Friday, so don’t miss out!
This morning, “occupy” protesters from Denver, Greeley and Fort Collins converged on the Walmart distribution center in Loveland, according to local police. 13 arrests were made, after the protesters decided to sit in the street, arms locked, in an attempt to block semi trucks that were trying to leave the center.
The holiday season is a time for giving. Well, this is the perfect chance to do just that: give. There are a lot of kids in our community that might not get presents this year; that is, unless they come from people like YOU!
