You Can't Mail Dogs.  If you try to, you go on Beano's naughty list (It's kind of like Santa's, only less people care). 39-year-old Stacey Champion has been charged with animal cruelty because she tried to mail a 4-month old puppy to Georgia.

The woman showed up with a box at a postal center in Minneapolis and wanted to get it delivered to Atlanta.  But when the box moved and began emitting heavy panting sounds a postal worker opened the package and found the dog inside with no food or water,  just a "Happy 11th birthday" note.

The dog (named "Guess"), is a 4-moth-old Schnauzer mix. He was immediatly taken to the city's animal control facility and is doing fine.  You can read more on the story from Daily Mail.

Apparently this woman actually had the nerve to go complain to the post office and tried to get her $22 shipping fee back since they didn't actually mail her dog.  According to WBSTV Champion had to pay around $250 in fees to the city and is now trying to convince the city to  give her the dog back.

"Authorities say the puppy would likely not have survived if it was shipped."

No.  that's my final answer.  No, no, no, and no! She obviously doesn't have the capacity to properly care for an animal right now.  Aside from the fact that mailing a dog is dangerous and illegal, she was a cheapskate about it!  Two-day priority shipping?!  I could cut her a little slack if she had at least tried to overnight it.  Not hat that would have been much safer for the dog, but still!

Stories like this just make me sick.
