Weld County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Possible Police Impersonator
The Sheriff's Department is investigating a possible police impersonator in the 4200 block of Shenandoah Street, in Unincorporated Weld County.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned of an unknown white male, who was described as wearing dark clothing with short gray hair, claiming to be a police officer. The man would not provide his name, badge number, nor the agency he worked for. He was last seen driving off in a black sedan.
Deputies verified with Greeley Police Department and Evans Police Department that it was not any of their officers.
What to Do if You Are Contacted
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office want to remind the community to call 911 if you believe the person who stopped you or contacted you isn’t a police officer. If the person isn’t in uniform, ask to see their police credentials. Ask for a business card.
