The Weld County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about an Aurora man at large who is believed to be armed and dangerous following a recent hit-and-run collision.

According to a news release via the Weld County Sheriff's Office, the suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Johnathan Faulk of Aurora; he’s described by officials as a white man with short brown crew cut hair, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds.

On Monday, Dec. 20, Greeley police responded to a call regarding a crash at about 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of O Street and 37th Avenue in Greeley; Faulk reportedly drove away from the scene of the crash, then traveled to the area of U.S. 85 and Colo. 392, where he parked his car and proceeded to flee on foot.

As per the news release via WCSO. a motorist who happened to witness the Monday morning crash followed Faulk to U.S. 85 and Colo. 392, and confronted the suspect shortly after he exited his car. In response, Faulk reportedly brandished a compact pistol and threatened the male motorist with it; nobody was injured during the altercation.

In the meantime, multiple Greeley officers were at the crash scene to investigate the crash scene, while deputies – including two K9 teams – responded to U.S. 85 and Colo. 392. During the search, an open-air sniff of the vehicle revealed prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Officials say Faulk was last seen wearing black pants and a black shirt, carrying a black backpack.

Johnathan Faulk is currently on probation and has several active warrants; additionally, investigators believe Faulk is likely still armed and should be considered dangerous. If you see him, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
