Want to know why I am extra-excited about Wil Wheaton (actor/writer/twitterer/starship ensign/etc.) being a part of this year’s Denver ComicCon? He was in Calgary at an expo over the weekend and a mother asked him if he would explain why being a nerd is awesome so she could record it and play it for her newborn baby. He obliged her with this four-minute answer that might just make you tear-up a little bit.

We come from all over, in some cases all over the world, so that we can be around people who love the things we love, the way that we love them and that's why being a nerd is awesome.

Humor, logic, truth, a tug at the heartstrings...I think it would be tough for anyone to find fault with anything Wheaton said in that video. I think I might have to play it for my daughter when she gets a little older too.
