This is a great way for kids to get the nutrition they need during the summer while schools out. Thompson School District’s Nutrition Services Department will be offering nutritious breakfasts and lunches for kids 18 months to 18-years-old– for FREE!

I like programs such as this; they make me feel that my taxes are going to the right things. The 2016 Summer Food Service Program will be getting kids free meals, starting the day after Memorial Day (Tuesday, May 31) and going through July 29th! When I grew up in Loveland, I’m sure my mom would have taken advantage of this if it was available.  Kids just have to show up at the given locations during the given times, and they’ll get a meal!

Monday through Friday, breakfast will run from 8am-9am, and lunch will run from 11:30am-12:30am.

The locations are:

  • Bill Reed Middle School (Bill Reed will not be doing breakfasts, however)

  • Lincoln Elementary School (I went to Lincoln!)

  • Monroe Elementary School

  • Sarah Milner Elementary School

  • Wynona Elementary School

Note: The program will NOT be happening the week of July 4th.
