Head Coach Earnest Collins Jr is entering his 7th season with his alma mater and looking to rebound from an injury riddled 3-7 record in 2017. Players like quarterback Jacob Knipp, who threw for over 13-thousand yards and nine touchdowns before injury, and running back Trae Riek will certainly provide the offense the Bears needed most of last season.

One other difference in this year's team is the addition of Marty English who was the defensive coordinator for CSU last season. English is now in charge of a Bears defense that gave up 34 points per game last season and will be lead by Sherand Boyd (top returning tackler in 2017) and Keifer Morris, who lead the Bears in sacks and was third-team All-Big Sky conference.

The first game for the Bears is this Saturday at Nottingham Field in Greeley against McNeese State. Kickoff is 2pm.
