Colorado monsoon season is coming (yes, that's a thing); and with this being an El Niño season, we can expect a bit more moisture than we're used to this time of year.

The flooding is no where near contained and rain continues to fall with expectations of heavy rainfall later today, tonight and possibly tomorrow. The flooding Thompson River has already washed out parts of Highway 34 and waters are likely to rush to town.

Last night's hail and thunderstorms have caused the National Weather Service to extend their flood advisory through Saturday afternoon at 2:45 pm. If you were able to sleep through the deafening thunder and the pelting of hail against your roof last night, I envy you. As good as that rain may be for area vegetation, it certainly did no favors to those worried about the Poudre and Big Thompson rive
