Suspect Arrested in Fort Collins Shooting Incident
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on September 19th at the 3300 block of East Locust Street in Fort Collins.
When deputies arrived at the scene that night, they learned that gunshots had been fired at the residence. According to the press release issued today, when deputies arrived at the scene they encountered a man who had been shot causing injuries to his hand.
William Howard (pictured above) was identified as the suspect by the 29 year old victim and he was still inside the house at the time deputies arrived. Officials located him in the residence at the time where he surrendered and was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance while Howard was also taken to a local hospital after complaining of an illness.
Howard was booked at the Larimer County Jail on the following allegations:
- Assault in the First Degree
- Menacing
- Prohibited Use of a Weapon
- Domestic Violence
As the press release states, the charges are merely an accusation and Howard is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
