Occasionally...okay, often...I'll be driving, looking at other cars, and sigh, "It's almost 2012.  Where are all the future-cars?"  Back to the Future: Part 2 led me to believe we would have flying cars by 2015, so shouldn't we at least have something less...conventional by now?

From the looks of this concept car, unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, it looks like Toyota agrees with me.  Check out the Fun-Vii!

Augmented reality technology provides seamless navigation and other interior controls in the concept model, described by toyota as 'a smartphone on wheels'. A 'navigation concierge' offers a vocal interface for directions and guidance, while the vehicle itself is networked to surrounding vehicles and infrastructure to detect road hazards and avoid crashes.

Granted, we probably won't see this car on the roads by 2015 eather, but I'm just excited that auto-makers are thinking outside the box!
