Early Friday afternoon, Poudre Fire Authority responded to a small plane that went down in a field North of US 287, near Overland Trail in Fort Collins. 


Crews arrived on the scene at 11:08 a.m. following reports of a plane in distress. When PFA arrived, they found a small fixed-wing aircraft on its top in a field located on private property north of the highway. Fortunately, the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, was uninjured during the crash. According to Poudre Fire Authority's Twitter, HazMat crews stopped a gasoline leak at the scene and the Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the cause of the crash.
