As a Mom of a 4-year-old daughter this video makes me so happy. Somehow princess things and the color pink snuck into our lives and the constant push of commercials and toys. I love it when my daughter just wants to build something, collect sticks, draw with a regular pen and paper, etc. I want to raise a strong independent girl who looks beyond sparkle and shine and uses her brain, not just beauty. This video is made by toymaker GoldieBlox is to inspire future women engineers. Check out their website for some great "girly" building toys.

In a world where men largely outnumber women in science, technology, engineering and math...and girls lose interest in these subjects as early as age 8, GoldieBlox is determined to change the equation. Construction toys develop an early interest in these subjects, but for over a hundred years, they've been considered "boys' toys". By designing a construction toy from the female perspective, we aim to disrupt the pink aisle and inspire the future generation of female engineers.

My name is Kama and I'm a Mom...and that just freaks me out sometimes. I'm a bunch of other things that used to seem really important, but somehow being a Mom blurs those other things into mush. I have a 4 year-old daughter and 1 year-old twin boys. Everyday I have a "holy s**t, I can't believe I'm a Mom" moment and those get shared here.
