Poudre Schools to Get $7M of Technology, Responding to COVID
Originally, Poudre School District parents were told there would not be enough laptops for all the kids that would need them this year for remote learning.
Luckily, this last week the Poudre School District Board of Education approved funding for laptops, iPads, over 2,000 personal WiFi devices, and cleaning devices for students. Nearly 30,000 laptops will be distributed to kids who need them.
More than $7 million in additional technology funding has been announced as well.
According to The Coloradoan, the funds came from the CARES Act, which provided support to the Colorado Department of Education and an allocated $12.9 million from the Coronavirus Relief Fund, which had to be used by December, 2020.
