Poudre Fire Authority Crews Respond to Three Separate Fires Thursday Afternoon
A fire burned Thursday afternoon southwest of Fort Collins, off Larimer County Road 38E (Harmony Road). It damaged one home, sheds and several properties. It also caused major damage to the yard and minor damage to the home (attic and garage) at 2509 Baxter Place. Firefighters had the fire under control about 2:42 p.m. The fire's cause and origin is under investigation.

At the same time, crews were responding to two other fires.
Dairy Fire
Poudre Fire Authority firefighters with those from Windsor Severance Fire Rescue responded to report of a front-end loader on fire at a dairy farm on Weld County Road 80. Firefighters from Windsor were first on scene and assumed command. The front-end loader was determined to be a total loss. A WSFR investigator is investigating. There was no other damage and no injuries.
Fire North of Larimer County Landfill
On the west side of town, PFA firefighters responded to a fire about one-half mile north of the Larimer County Landfill, on the west side of Taft Hill Road. Roughly one-half mile was burned, and the probable cause was determined to be a cigarette tossed from a passing vehicle. A Larimer County landfill truck assisted in putting the fire out. There was no property damage.
