Police have arrested a man in connection with the Fort Collins stabbing on April 16.

According to a press release from the City of Fort Collins, the incident occurred at 10:29 a.m. that day when 38-year-old Travis Spain reportedly stabbed a man in the 1200 block of Magnolia Street.

The man then entered an area restaurant to find help, and the employees called 911.

Officials transported the man, who sustained serious injuries, to a nearby hospital.

Police then safely arrested Spain, and determined that he had been arguing with the victim before allegedly stabbing him.

Spain is currently in the Larimer County Jail, facing a First Degree Assault (class 3 felony) charge.

"I appreciate the rapid response of our community members who called for help and the officer who arrived within one minute to provide life-saving care to this victim," said Investigations Division Lieutenant Adam McCambridge in the release. "Their quick assistance made a significant difference in the outcome of this incident."
