A man was arrested last weekend, after randomly firing gunshots from his vehicle while driving through Fort Collins.

According to Fort Collins Police, several community members called to report hearing gunshots coming from the south end of town.

At the same time that these calls were being fielded by dispatchers, on-duty officers observed a pickup truck driving erratically through town. Officers followed the vehicle and found it parked at an apartment complex on Landings Drive. However, when they arrived, the driver had already exited the truck and fled to one of the nearby apartments.

Officers attempted to contact the suspect, but he refused to follow their instructions. The man ultimately came outside about an hour later and he was placed under arrest.

The investigation confirmed that the man had been shooting from his truck window while driving around town. His charges include Reckless Endangerment and Disorderly Conduct. Following the suspect's arrest, police obtained a search warrant and located the firearm involved in the crime.
