Out-Of-Shape Seafood Thief Unable To Blow Into Interlock Device To Make His Getaway

An overweight and out-of-shape criminal should have thought harder about his getaway. He had the plan to steal some seafood, he had a getaway car, but he failed to realize that his trot from crime scene to getaway car would leave him so winded that he couldn't blow into his interlock system and allow him to drive away.

I'm sure he'll have plenty of time to hit the treadmill while in prison.

According to WLL, our 48-year-old went into a grocery store and grabbed some bagged peeled crawfish tails. (I'm assuming those are expensive?) He then ran from the store to his getaway car.

However, our crook had a problem with drinking and driving, which meant he had an interlock device where he has to blow alcohol-free breath into it before the car will move.

Witnesses told police the suspect 'was so winded from running that he struggled to blow into his ignition interlock device to start his vehicle.'

That's got to be embarrassing, but it gets worse.

Employees of the grocery store caught up to the guy while he was waiting to catch his breath in the car and started taking pictures of him. The guy did eventually compose himself enough to start the car and drive away, but police quickly tracked him to his home.

Here's where his criminal-genius truly shines. When police confronted him about the stolen seafood he said he didn't do it and that he had been at work until 4:30 that afternoon.

Seeing as it wasn't yet 4:30 when police arrived, his story had some pretty glaring holes.
