Northern Colorado Is Getting a New VA Facility
Loveland will be home to a new VA facility by the end of 2022.
The new facility, planned by the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is expected to be 75,645 square feet, making it bigger than the current locations in Loveland and Fort Collins.
The large square footage will allow for the facility to have 550 parking spaces, as well as an additional 60 staff members.
These added staff members will bring the employees at the Loveland-Fort Collins clinics to over 200 professionals.
Currently, around 1,000 employees are working in the Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming chapters of the Cheyenne VA Health Care System.
The new facility will also allow for the Center to bring more services to Northern Colorado, according to the facility's master planner Carolyn Thompson.
"With the added space, we will be able to bring several new resources to Northern Colorado, such as radiology and dental," said Thompson.
Construction for the new facility will begin in the summer of 2020, and is expected to take two years to complete. It will be located at 4875 Byrd Drive in Loveland.
Even though no one likes to hear about new construction projects, our veterans will have an even better health care system to look forward to.
