Baxter has not had an easy road. According to All Aboard Animal Shelter, Baxter is a plothound mix who got very sick in 2016, when he was originally supposed to be transported over to Colorado.

Baxter was diagnosed with distemper virus, which many puppies don't survive, but Baxter pushed through and is now 100% healthy and distemper negative. Based on the testimony from his long-term foster, it sounds like Baxter is a fun-loving boy who just wants someone to share his life with.

According to a representative from All Aboard, he has a little movement that he does with his head that comes from being a survivor that might make potential adopters nervous...but he is just like any other dog. Check out photos of this sweet boy below.

Baxter is good with kids, though, because he doesn't register his size, All Aboard says he might be a better fit in a home with older kids. Any hikers out there? Baxter loves the outdoors and might be a good fit for someone who wants an adventure buddy for those Colorado weekends.

If you're interested in Baxter, he'll be at All Aboard's adoption event at the Fort Collins PetCo this Saturday from 10-1. Go say hello and learn more about this fantastic adoption organization.
