Man Jailed for Refusing to Leave Jail – Daily Dose of Weird

If I were sent to prison for any amount of time, nothing would stop me from getting as far away from the big-house as possible after I served my time.  Oddly enough, that wasn't the case for this guy!

The Huffington Post reports that Rodney Dwayne Valentine was recently released from a North Carolina prison, where he had been incarcerated since May.  When the police refused to give him a ride to a motel, Valentine refused to leave the prison.  Police had no choice but to charge him with trespassing and throw him back in the slammer!

So here's my question:  why didn't he just walk away from the prison?  Even hitchhiking would have been better than being thrown back in jail after just being released!
