Liberty Common School in Fort Collins closed on Tuesday (October 27) due to a social media threat.

According to a Facebook post from the school, students saw a social media post threatening the school's safety on Monday (October 26) night, and quickly reported the post to school administrators.

Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) is currently investigating the matter, but has not yet advised the school on how to proceed.

Out of an abundance of caution, administrators closed both of the school's campuses, leaving students in grades K through 12 to stay home.

Officials believe that school will resume for all grades on Wednesday (October 28), but have not yet sent out an update.
