Authorities have arrested a juvenile suspect in connection with a Saturday (Jan. 23) armed robbery in Fort Collins.

According to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at a 7-11 on Taft Hill Road, when two males allegedly entered the store and stole a carton of beer.

The store clerk, a 23-year-old male from Fort Collins, began to chase the thieves down, when one of them turned around and shot him. Thankfully, his injuries are not life threatening.

On Sunday (Jan. 24), LCSO identified one of the suspects as Christian Lee Burley, 16, and arrested him at an apartment on Briarwood Road, with the help of the Fort Collins Police Services SWAT Team.

Burley is currently at the Platte Valley Youth Services Center in Greeley, facing charges of attempted murder, assault, aggravated robbery, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender/juvenile.

However, authorities have not yet identified the second suspect in the case.
