A new development has been made in a seven year old missing persons case in Colorado.
Remains of Missing Lochbuie Woman Identified After Seven Years
On August 24th, 2018, 56-year-old Terri Ackerman was seen for the last time, according to reports. After years of searching and questions, Weld County officials confirm that her remains were discovered in Lochbuie in mid September of this year.
Human Remains Found on Property Where Ackerman Lived
The deceased was found in the 100 block of Poplar Street, the very same property where she had lived before her disappearance.

Police Respond to Discovery in Lochbuie
Remains Discovered at Ackerman’s Former Home
According to reports, on September 10th, 2025 local law enforcement responded to a call of possible human remains at Ackerman's home.
Police Not Releasing Details Amid Active Investigation
There is no word from police on who discovered the remains or what sort of condition they were found in. Officials have not confirmed whether or not there was foul play involved in the death of Terri.
Ackerman's family put up a GoFundMe to help cover the funeral costs.
On the page, they described her as a, "loving, caring, and social person who meant the world to her family and friends. She was always there for those she loved, filling every room with warmth and conversation."
"We are grateful for the outpouring of love from the community and everyone who cared about Terri."

Investigators Still Searching for Answers
Lochbuie Police and CBI Continue the Case
The Lochbuie Police and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are currently investigating the case. They have not disclosed any additional details about the cause of death.
At the time of Ackerman's disappearance in 2018, investigators conducted "extensive searches" with Rampart Search and Rescue, cadaver dogs, as well as drones.
Investigators say that even after multiple interviews and apparent leads in the case, there was very little progress made to determine what exactly happened to Terri Ackerman.
