The internet has been buzzing about Hobby Lobby closing its doors in various cities. Will Northern Colorado locations be affected?

I may not personally agree with some political views Hobby Lobby holds (though I respect their right to believe whatever they choose), but they have always been my first choice for craft supplies and home decor in Northern Colorado and I know I'm not alone. Having Hobby Lobby shut down would be detrimental to my mental health and give me nothing to do and nowhere to shop in my free time (it will benefit my wallet, though).

Lucky for us Hobby Lobby lovers, the answer is "No." That's one big, flat-out NO, Hobby Lobby is not closing in Northern Colorado.

Another store in San Angelo, Texas, was inundated with calls last week with customers asking if the store would be closing down after reportedly seeing an online article claiming Hobby Lobby would shut down operations nationwide.

"I think it has something to do with how the internet 'recycles' things and some of those stories are dated from years ago," San Angelo Hobby Lobby manager, Cynthia Hudec, told San Angelo Live. "Rest assured, we are not closing."

As anyone working for a corporation might know, this kind of hubbub always gets to the big wigs - who responded.

"Hobby Lobby often hears from concerned customers who have read on social media that the company is closing its doors," said Bob Miller, Hobby Lobby's Communications Coordinator in Advertising with the Oklahoma City corporate office. "The online article gives the impression that Hobby Lobby founder and CEO, David Green, has decided to shut down all Hobby Lobby stores. The article goes on to say, 'Since you will not see this in the liberal media, please pass this on to all your contacts.' And many people have. The good news is that the report is false. Hobby Lobby is not closing stores."

Thank God because even though I hate that they're closed on Sundays, I still need my Christmas in July fix.

Miller goes on to say Hobby Lobby's business is thriving, will have opened 50 new locations by the end of 2016, and is expanding to an additional 50 locations in 2017.

Still hate Hobby Lobby over political reasons? Just so you know, they have awesome trinkets to hide your weed in. (See them HERE.)
