So this year, just like last year and the year before that, the commercials for the Super Bowl were kinda eh.

Each year there is a lot of hype for the commercials and each year they seem to be getting lamer and lamer. It seems like they are trying to hard and at the same time, it seems like they don't even care.

How can they fix them? Well, here is my take how to fix them in two simple steps.

One: Get creative again and keep it simple. They used to be about creativity and content to sell their product. Now, especially this year, they were just lazy. Quite a few focused on throwing a whole bunch of content at the viewers and it just seemed cluttered and like they were throwing a whole bunch of stuff at a wall and hoping something sticks. There were also a lot of commercials that just focused on random images and a sappy song. No. No more of that. I mean, don't get me wrong. Some heart felt commercials are ok but there were too many. The Super Bowl used to mean that we would get to see some hilarious commercials. That's not the case anymore. There are only a handful of funny ones. Focus more on the content rather than just random stuff. Does that make sense?

Two: STOP SPOILING THEM! Two weeks before the game happens the internet gets flooded with " See blah blah's Super Bowl Commercial!" That takes the surprise and the fun out of it. Countless times last night I found myself saying, "Oh, I have already seen it." My level for caring went way down. It also takes the emotion out of the touchy feely ones when they are "leaked". Keep the commercials under wraps until the game!
