Haven’t Tried Music City Hot Chicken Yet? Do it…Now!
Over Memorial Day weekend, my wife and I had one night that we didn't feel like cooking at home. So we tried something new, and are so glad we did!
So after we discussed different ideas on what we felt like that night, and not wanting to break the bank doing it, we ended up stopping into the new fried chicken restaurant in Fort Collins called "Music City Hot Chicken".
I have one word for it...WOW.
Well, I may have some other words for it...like DAMN GOOD.
KICKASS.
Finger licki...oh wait...the national chain which doesn't taste too good uses that. I'll skip it.
Anyways, if you're having a craving for fried chicken with a southern twist to it, Music City Fried Chicken is definitely a stop you want to make.
I ended up getting the half chicken which was served with one side, some toasted bread, and sliced pickles. First off, the size of my meal was definitely worth the $13.50 I paid for it. If you are someone like me and you want to make sure you get your money's worth, you will not walk away disappointed.
Second, I ended up getting the "HOT" for my heat level which they say includes a "little bit of burn". While I think it may have more than a little bit, it still tasted phenomenal. The chicken was some of the moistest chicken I have ever bought from a restaurant, and the fried goodness on the outside was packed with flavor.
Not a fan of some heat in your food? Well I suggest you just get your chicken "southern style". There is no heat with this chicken, but is still packed with flavor. My wife and seven year old son got this heat level and loved every bite. And believe me...if you can satisfy the appetite of a seven year old, you have done your job perfectly.
I ended up getting mac and cheese as my side which was equally as appetizing and better than most businesses which try to pass off national brand mac and cheese as their own.
One of the best things about Music City Hot Chicken is the sauces you get to choose from to accompany your meal. I went with the house sauce which added a great kick to the meal. But next time I think I may be adventurous and go for the "Fireball Maple Syrup". There is something to that name that definitely pulls me towards it.
Another thing I am going to try as well the next time I am there? The "MCHC BLT". What is that you ask? Well everything that comes with your usual BLT...lettuce and tomato...along with bacon-aise layered with crispy chicken skin.
Do you need me to repeat that? Didn't think I wrote that right? CRISPY CHICKEN SKIN.
Yeah, I am hungry just talking about it.
I haven't even had a chance to talk about the atmosphere, just because the food is that good. But there is plenty of seating for families and groups, so if you have a large family (like myself) you will be able to sit comfortably while enjoying the music city flavors.
Music City Hot Chicken is located at the corner of Prospect and South College next to Black Bottle Brewery in the Prospector Shops.
On a scale one to five chicken wings, I give it FIVE. Check it out today. And see why Nashville is having an impact on Fort Collins!
