"Weird Al" Yankovic has written a children's book that debuted at No. 4 on The New York Times best-seller list. He’s as a comedian, singer, songwriter, music producer, actor, director and now, children's book writer. Is there anything Weird Al can’t do?

I’ll bet you didn’t know that Weird Al has sold more comedy recordings than anyone else in history and has three Grammy awards. He also has a degree in Architecture.

His new book is called When I Grow Up and is about 8-year-old Billy, who recites a list of career possibilities for show-and-tell. (Some of the careers include; gorilla masseuse, rodeo clown and professional pickle inspector!) Apparently, Weird Al says the purpose of the book is to encourage kids to do what they love. Read about it from the Naperville Sun.

When asked by Amazon.com about his advise to kids who are dreaming of what to be when they grow up, Yankovic said,

"Hey, it’s a terrific thing to think about. By all means, explore your options. Find your passions in life. And always remember: It’s never too late to change your mind."

Weird Al is always welcome in my stereo. I grew up loving his parodies, and am constantly amazed at the talent he has for taking hit songs and creating something totally new with them. Some of my favorites:

And of course his polka mash-ups are hilarious.  What was your favorite Weird Al parody?
