Greeley Wins National Award for Having the Best Tasting Water
Let's all raise a glass to Greeley, as they have just won an award for having the best tasting tap water in the entire country. The voting was determined by the American Water Works Association at the 13th annual tap water taste test, which took place in Philadelphia earlier this week. The Weld County city was awarded the “Best of the Best” in the tap water taste test, beating out 34 other regional winners from across North America. Greeley's recognition marks the first national win for a city from the Rocky Mountains region. Fifteen regions in total participated in the contest, including some in Canada and Puerto Rico. Montpelier, Ohio took home second place and last year’s winner, Bloomington, Minnesota, came in at third.
Not only did Greeley take home the top honor for having the tastiest water, but the city also earned the “People’s Choice” award which was voted on by conference attendees and featured over 1,000 other entries. This is the first time that a city has won both of these prestigious awards within the same year.
