Landing a campsite in Colorado is truly an art, and believe it or not, there are some places you can do it free of charge. S'mores not included.

Keep in mind, some of these places are where 'overnight camping' is permitted. For example, I won't be pitching a tent in a Cracker Barrel parking lot any time soon (I would hope), but there are a few places, you know, actually in the wilderness, that are free to campers.
