If you’re reading this article, then you already know that here at Townsquare Media, we love our trash (lovingly) reality television. In fact, our writer Emily gives you week-by-week updates of this wild show, which saves me a lot on wine and cable each week (thanks, Emily!). You can check those updates out here, but in the meantime, you might be surprised to learn that Northern Colorado has had a fair amount of representation in the Bachelor Universe.

Let’s begin with the ladies. According to the Bachelor Nation Wiki, NoCo has sent two women to look for love in “The Bachelor.” The first of these was Noelle Drake, a Loveland photographer who was featured in season 12 of the acclaimed reality show. During her season, Noelle did her best to win the love of Matt Grant, the first British bachelor and second non-American heartthrob to be featured. She actually made it pretty far, too, and introduced Matt to her family before she was eliminated in week 6.

The second NoCo lady to grace the Bachelor’s stage was Jordan Branch, a Windsor native who appeared in the show’s 19th season. Jordan, unfortunately, was eliminated in week 2 of the battle for Chris Soules, also known as Prince Farming. The Coloradoan reported that in spite of her short-lived start, Jordan later returned for a second round during the season, only to be sent home again. Still, props to you for your tenacity, Jordan. She spoke about her experience on the show here, and went on to earn her real estate license from the University of Colorado-Denver.

Alright, now it’s time for the men. The latest Colorado gentleman to be featured on “The Bachelorette” was Chase McNary, a CSU alumnus featured in season 12 of the show. Just like Noelle, Chase made it through several rounds of mortal combat—I mean, rose ceremonies—and introduced the show’s titular lady, JoJo Fletcher, to his family in Highlands Ranch. But in a bittersweet ending, Chase was sent home in week 9.

Skipping over several seasons of the show brings us to Ronald Mayer, a Greeley barber shop owner who found himself in season 4 of “The Bachelorette” and wooing DeAnna Pappas of Marietta, Georgia. Ronald didn’t hold on quite as long as Chase and was eliminated in week 4 of the show’s run. But we can take some consolation in the fact that he ultimately lost to another Coloradan, Jesse Csincsak.

Finally, last but not least, we have NoCo’s most famous bachelor – The one, the only, Ryan Sutter. Besides making waves as part of the first successful couple to come out of ABC’s Bachelor and Bachelorette Universe, the Colorado firefighter also has a claim to fame as a successful athlete. A Fort Collins native who graduated from Fort Collins High School and then the University of Colorado in Boulder (I suppose we can forgive him for that), Ryan played briefly in the NFL. Afterwards, he competed in the very first season of “The Bachelorette,” successfully winning the heart of Trista Rehn. The happy couple married after the show and went on to raise two children, as well as appear on a few other reality shows.

So, there you have it. Hopefully we'll get to see more Colorado representatives on our small screens soon.
