On October 1, in the midst of Colorado's largest wildfires burning outside of city limits and an ongoing drought, the City of Fort Collins put water restrictions into effect. 

Under these restrictions, residents could not water lawns, wash vehicles at home or at dealerships, use outdoor misting devices and more in an effort to avoid a water supply shortage.

On November 10, the City of Fort Collins tweeted that restrictions had ended and announced that the city saved over 100 million gallons of water.
