Fort Collins Police May Add Electric Motorcycles To Fleet

You may see some new electric motorcycles running around town, owned by the Fort Collins PD. Hopefully you won't see their flashing lights in your rear-view mirror.  

For the next month or so Fort Collins will be in a trial period for these new motorcycles. The new electric motorcycles use absolutely no fuel and run off of electricity. The motorcycles can go 80-100 miles on one single charge.

 In a news release, Capt. Jim Szakmeister said,“As we look to maximize fuel efficiency and green technology, it made sense to conduct a trial of Brammo’s all-electric motorcycle."

Fort Collins PD currently has a 7 bike fleet and may be going green by replacing them.
