Fort Collins Man Arrested for Attempted Murder
Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) have arrested a local man for attempted murder.
According to a press release from the City of Fort Collins, the incident occurred around 11:11 p.m. on September 16, when 29-year-old David McWhorter allegedly chased a man around North College Avenue before stabbing him.
Officers responded to the scene and transported the victim, a 56-year-old man who did not know McWhorter, to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Police located McWhorter nearby shortly after, and transported him to an area hospital for a singular injury.
McWhorter is currently in the Larimer County Jail facing an Attempted First Degree Murder charge.
"Our entire first responder team did an outstanding job responding quickly, locating the suspect, getting medical care for those who needed it, and doing it all safely," said Assistant Chief Kristy Volesky, leader of the Criminal Investigations Division, in the release. "I'm grateful for the professionalism and skill that they bring to every situation, including this one."
