Denver Nuggets NBA Cup Schedule Revealed And It Looks Rough

The Denver Nuggets are getting ready for the 2024-25 season, and part of that season will be the return of the NBA Cup, which the hated Lakers won last year. Here's the scoop.

What Is The NBA Cup That The Denver Nuggets Are Playing For?

The NBA introduced the new in-season tournament in the 2023-24 season for their new NBA Cup Championship, and it will return for the 2024-25 season. Here's how it works...

• All 30 teams are divided into 6 groups of 5 teams based on the previous year's record
• "Cup Night" games take place on Tuesday and Friday games November 12th through December 2nd
• Each team will play the other teams in its group once
• 8 Teams advance to the knockout rounds
• Semi-Finals and the Championship games will be held on December 14th & 17th in Las Vegas
• Each player of the winning team wins cash too. Last year it was $500k each

All of the games last season were played on special custom-designed courts, (that were way too busy visually for my liking honestly) and special uniforms, and while they were just regular season games (outside of the Cup Championship game), winning these specific NBA Cup games would advance them through the new Cup bracket with the chance of winning this new in-season Cup Championship.

To the chagrin of all Nuggets fans, the Los Angeles Lakers walked away with the very first NBA Cup after beating the Indiana Pacers. This year the games are set and the Nuggets are looking to be two-time champions in the 2024-25 season. The 2024 NBA Cup schedule for the Nuggets dropped today, and it's gonna be a tough one.

Yes, we'd rather just focus on winning another NBA Championship next summer, but if we win this, it means we're winning more games at the start of the season so we won't be frantically fighting for that one seed again in the spring. Not that home court mattered much with the round two losses we suffered this past season. This season will be different! GO NUGGETS!
