Colorado may be nearly 1,000 miles away from Louisiana, but that doesn't stop us from getting our fix of amazing Cajun cuisine. Even with the distance, lots of NoCo locals look forward to celebrating some of the Southern traditions, like Mardi Gras and arguably one of the tastiest, crawfish boils.

Lucky for all the mudbug lovers out there, it's that time of year again. The Lost Cajun recently announced via social media, that their annual crawfish boils have started back up. Before even stepping inside the restaurant, those passing by can smell the spices simmering with the crawdads, as they boil in a large pot out front on the corner of Meldrum. During crawfish season, which is typically February through May, The Lost Cajun flies directly them in from Louisiana every weekend – with the boils taking place Friday and Saturday nights.

The boils start around 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, but if you want them, it's a  good idea to get there early because it's always first come, first served until they run out. Customers can order the crawfish by the pound for $13 each, which also comes with a piece of spicy Cajun sausage, corn on the cob, and a potato. In addition, diners can just get the crawfish alone for $11 per pound. Amazingly, the current in-house record is 11 pounds of crawfish in one sitting...think you can beat that?! The full menu is still available during the crawfish boils. Crawdaddies are not available for takeout or delivery and no coupons can be applied to the special.
