Colorado State FlagBack in February, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said he would sue Fort Collins over its proposed fracking ban. Well, Hick and the rest of Colorado is on the other end of a new lawsuit coming from Colorado Sherriffs.

Today, 54 Colorado’s sheriffs will file to block two gun-control laws scheduled to take effect this July. From the Coloradoan:

Fifty-four sheriffs are joining other gun-rights activists in trying to block a law limiting the size of ammunition magazines. The sheriffs say they’re also suing to block a new law expanding background-check requirements for private gun purchases.

Colorado sheriffs have already ruffled some feathers when they staged a protest when President Obama came for a gun control rally back in April.

I am assuming Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith is on-board for the lawsuit, he posted this to his Facebook page yesterday:

Tomorrow at 10 a.m. will be a big announcement from 90% of the Colorado Sheriffs on how they plan to stand up for the rights of the citizens of Colorado.

Governors suing cities, sheriffs suing state government, can't we all just get along?! I'd like to think so and I'd like to think there is a better way to go about this than lawsuits. But it seems like money is the only thing that even matters in most government dealings anymore. I have a feeling this is going to get ugly.
