A new poll has revealed that Coloradans currently prefer former state governor John Hickenlooper over incumbent Senator Cory Gardner in the U.S. Senate Race by 18%.

Keating Research, OnSight Public Affairs, and Melanson conducted the poll, which sampled 600 residents, through online surveys from May 1 to May 3.

54% of those polled said they were likely to vote for Hickenlooper, while only 30% stated they would likely vote for Gardner.

9% of residents were undecided. Fellow Democratic candidate Andrew Romanoff was not included in the poll.

According to The Greeley Tribune, the three firms that conducted the poll are Democratic, and Melanson even worked for one of Hickenlooper's past campaigns.

The poll also saw an increase in Governor Jared Polis' approval rating, with two-thirds of residents stating that they hold a favorable opinion of him.
