Colorado Eagles to Honor Community Cancer Warriors in Homestand Against Iowa
It's a great time to spend your weekend in the BEC.
The Colorado Eagles are hot on the ice right now, currently toting a five-game win streak. Even better, this Saturday goes beyond just hockey.
Who Doesn't Love Free Giveaways?
Although I'm personally a little bummed I didn't get a cowbell on Cowbell Night - I definitely thought I got to the game early enough - this Friday is redemption for anyone in the same boat!
Northern Colorado and beer - the unstoppable duo. So, it seems perfect that tonight (Jan. 21) is Koozie Giveaway night! Beer and koozies are only second to hockey and cowbells, you know.
The Colorado Eagles will be hosting the Iowa Wild both tonight and tomorrow night (Jan. 22). The Wild currently sit at a 15-14-2-2 record on the season while the Eagles have recorded a 16-11-3-2 current record.
Saturday Is Bigger Than Hockey
Bring the tissues - Saturday, Colorado will be hosting their Eagles Fight Cancer Night.
The Eagles will be teaming up with UCHealth to honor cancer warriors in the community. During the game, each of the Eagles players will be donning the name of one of those warriors on their helmets.
The BEC will also have a bit of a different color scheme going on Saturday night as well. In addition to the arena being lit up in lavender lights, the team will also be wearing special lavender jerseys.
Be ready for a tear-jerking moment during one of the timeouts in the game. In each cupholder, there will be lavender cards for you to hold up to your phone's flashlight and light up the rink in lavender.
You can find more information on Saturday night's game here.
It's worth noting as well that CSU men's basketball has also partnered with UCHealth for a similar honor for community cancer warriors. The CSU women's basketball team donned jerseys with the names of cancer warriors in our community on their Jan. 15 game, and the men will follow suit on Jan. 28 against UNLV.
For more information on those games, and to find tickets online, you can visit the CSU Rams website here.
