Fire Suddenly Shuts Down 30+ Year-Old Colorado Restaurant
It's never good to hear about one of Colorado's favorite destination restaurants being in trouble. A very unique spot that has been around for over 30 years, may be in jeopardy.
This is restaurant that families have been going to for generations, to have dinner and watch planes take off. The Perfect Landing has had a perfect name for decades; here's to hoping that things get back to "perfect."'
I can't imagine how fun it must be to have a meal so close to where planes are landing and taking off; it must be a phenomenal experience for kids. The Perfect Landing has been open since 1992, pleasing thousands and thousands of Colorado diners.
Fire Shuts Down "Airport" Restaurant in Colorado
According to KDVR, on June 4, 2024, The Perfect Landing, located at the Centennial Aiport, suffered a "significant" fire and The Perfect Landing would be having to close immediately.
In the middle of the afternoon that day, a fire broke out in the kitchen area due to a leaking natural gas line; the restaurant's fire suppression system activated, and employees used fire extinguishers to try to put down the fire.
South Metro Fire Rescue, along with other agencies (including the Centennial Airport) arrived on the scene to work the fire and evacuate the restaurant. There were no injuries in the incident, but the restaurant is closed until further notice.

The Perfect Landing is one of those rare places that has a great, fun, location and has a great menu. They're known for both their seafood options and their steaks, along with a tasty breakfast menu, as well.
