Despite the nearly half-million dollars worth of game copies that those armed Frenchmen made off with last weekend, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has broken sales records with astounding force.
The Huffington Post reports that the game sold 6.4 million units, and made $400 million in sales, in the first 24 hours after it was released at midnight on Tuesday. Apparently, the third time is definitely a charm for the game's developer, Activision Blizzard Inc., as this is only the latest in records to be set by the company's games.
Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops raked in $360 million in its first 24 hours on sale. Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2, sold 4.7 million copies in its first 24 hours to reap $310 million.
