New Host for 2012 Oscars Named [VIDEO]
Less than 24 hours after Eddie Murphy stepped down as the host of the 2012 Academy Awards, his replacement has been chosen; and I'm stoked!
Today, Billy Crystal confirmed that he will host the 84th Academy Awards on February 26th, 2012, according to moviefone. This will be Crystal's ninth time hosting the Oscars.
On Thursday afternoon, the actor tweeted: "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show."

Crystal previously hosted the live television event in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2004. He has always been famous for his elaborate and funny openings to the show.
