There are really very few places to get good chocolate in Fort Collins, but the places we do have are good ones, really good. If your sweetheart is one who has a sweet tooth this Valentine's Day, you should go to one of these five candy stores to satisfy their cravings.

5. Vern's Toffee House

Vern's World-famous butter almond toffee is probably the most well-known candy maker in Fort Collins. Granted, their specialty is toffee and not chocolate, but without their delicious chocolate, their toffee would not be complete. I love Vern's. It had to make my list and should make yours too. They are located on Link Lane, but do most of their business online.

4. Rocket Fizz

Rocket Fizz is the most unique store on my list. They have everything and I mean everything when it comes to candy and soda pop. So, obviously, they have enormous selection of chocolate. My favorite thing about the store is they import candy from Europe. I can get same chocolate that I had when I was in London. They have all of the best American candy too. They are located in the Opera Galleria.

3. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory could easily have been at the top of my list. I love their chocolate. You can find them at the newly renovated Foothills. They cover things in chocolate like strawberries, and apples, and marshmallows. Although, my favorite creation at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is their Avalanche. It is part fudge, part Rice Krispies treat, and part chocolate bark, all blended together.

2. Kilwins

Kilwins Fort Collins, in the heart of Old Town, makes all of their own candy and their own ice cream too. It's  all delicious. They have some best chocolate I have ever tasted. I especially like the turtles and the fudge, which are all made in-house. If I were pick a candy store that represents the  City of Fort Collins best, it would be Kilwins.

I was just recently introduced to Nuance Chocolate in Old Town Fort Collins and I am so glad I was. They truly make chocolate from scratch. They start with the cacao bean and turn it into heavenly bars and truffles. Even their dark chocolate is sweet and delicious and I am a milk chocolate guy. It really is chocolate-lover's dream. Don't doubt me until you have tried it yourself. Their chocolate is to die for.
