Avalanche Watch Parties At McGregor Square Are Now 21+
All remaining Colorado Avalanche watch parties down in Denver at McGregor Square will only be permitted to those 21 years of age and over.
As of Wednesday, June 22, in order to enter McGregor Square during an Avs watch party, you might prove to be 21+.
"As we continue to reach record numbers at McGregor Square, we would like to emphasize our efforts to maintain a safe and fun environment for everyone to cheer on the Avs", a statement via the McGregor Square Instagram page reads.
The age restriction change was made after watch party officials said they've witnessed far too many underage incidences that have ultimately put people's safety at risk -
“Our number one thing is always safety and security, and things were just getting — a lot of incidents with some underage people,” Patrick Walsh, CEO of McGregor Square, said - according to KDVR.
“So we made the call for the enjoyment of everybody, for the safety and security of everybody, we made it 21 and up,” Walsh said.
As per the watch party venue's post, McGregor Square security will be stationed at all entrances to the property and may search bags that they deem necessary.
In addition, the following items are prohibited during all watch parties at McGregor Square:
- Outside alcohol (outside alcohol will be confiscated)
- Outside food or non-alcoholic beverages
- Chairs/seating of any kind
- Inflatable objects (beach balls, latex balloons, etc.)
- Weapons (i.e., knives, pepper spray, stun guns, any concealed weapons, firearms, etc.)
- Large umbrellas
- Hard case containers (coolers, briefcases, etc.)
- Air horns/whistles
