Smoke is blanketing most of the front range and beyond from the rapidly growing High Park Fire. Gusty winds helped the fire grow to over 10,000 acres last night according to estimates from The Coloradoan. And more evacuations have been ordered.

At 5 a.m. this morning, evacuation notices extended to include all residents from County Road 27E to Bellvue and for the area south and west of Bellvue, including Lory State Park and Red Stone Canyon, as well as Buckhorn Road from Masonville up to Stove Prairie School.

A planned citizen briefing will be held at at 9:45 a.m. at the Cache La Poudre Middle School in Laporte.

According the tweets from the Larimer Sheriff, at least 18 structures have been lost to the fire so far.

I think 'scary' is a good word to sum up this fire thus far.

My thoughts go out to all those affected by the fire and to all the brave firefighters and their families.
