One member of the Boulder City Council is so sick of you playing beer pong outside, he's doing something about it.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Councilman Andreww Shoemaker is making moves to ban beer pong tables from the front yards of homes on University Hill.

"You drive through the Hill in the spring or the fall, you see them. You see them laying out all winter," Shoemaker told the Daily Camera. "What I'm talking about is getting these things out of the yard."

Right now there's a city ordinance banning couches from your front lawn, otherwise face a $100 fine for first-time offenders. Shoemaker is now contemplating a similar rule with the beer pong tables, and plans to bring it up to his 8 council colleagues to gauge their interest.

Shoemaker says the rule wouldn't be exclusive to beer pong tables, but would also include any table not designed for outdoor use.

"I'm throwing it out there just to see. It's very exploratory," he said. "But it's something I've been told is certainly feasible, and has been done in other cities."

The Daily Camera says Santa Clara, California, has a similar rule in place, where offenders could face a $750 fine. At least a dozen campuses alongside the College of William and Mary have banned beer pong altogether.

"I'm not necessarily proposing anything...but I'm interested in feedback."
