Over the weekend I say the "historically accurate documentary" about one of the greatest presidents that this country has seen and I wish all documentaries were like this. In all seriousness, it was a quite enjoyable movie but I bet there are going to be kids some time down the line that think that this is true story. If you don't know about the story, basically Abe's mom is killed by a vampire and Abe is trained as a "hunter" to seek out the vamps and take them out. You could say that it is a revenge story, but you'd only be half right. There is a revenge story in there but there is also a story of struggle and triumph and over coming the odds. This movie was a welcome change from the other vampire shows and movies and it was a decent adaptation of the book!

One of my favorite things about this movie was the incorporation of actual history. I am kind of a history nerd and the way the story revolved around actual events made me kind of giddy. From the introduction to Harriet Tubman to the Civil War, the way it moved with the story made it seem like it was a perfect fit.

My one big qualm that I had with this movie was the horse stampede part. I felt that it was poorly done and cheesy and didn't really have a place in the film. It was just an over use of CGI and it reminded me of that stupid scene from 'Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull' (not a good movie) where Shia Labeouf was swinging on vines with monkeys. It wasn't needed. The could have cut the stampede part to about a min and that would have been a bit better.

Over all I really enjoyed this film and if you like vampires, or fantasy and don't mind some gore, then you should enjoy this film.

I give it 4 out of 5 decapitated heads
